Dog treats are Damn Delicious? I never thought I’d see the day.
But with this face, I just couldn’t resist. No, but really, I’ve been spending a lot of time and money shopping for good-quality dog treats, but then I thought why not just make them at home? Nothing beats the homemade version of your fur friend's favourite treat and I know exactly what’s going into his food instead of all those suspicious by-products. Best of all, these homemade treats are incredibly easy with ingredients you already have on hand. I have added a list of cooking utensils I use. with the ingredients and a step by step directions on creating your dog favourite treat.
COOKING UTENSILS:
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup of whole wheat flour
1 large egg
2 cups apples
1/4 cup peanut butter
DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; set aside.
Peel and core 2 apples. My dog's favourite is the Fuji apples they are very sweet. Dice into small pieces.
Mix in an 8-Quart Two-Tone Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl oats, flour (please use whole wheat flour for your fur friend), Peanut butter (my go-to is Smuckers natural creamy peanut butter), eggs (large white or brown) and the apples you just dice into small pieces. I use this 4 Sturdy Blades, Stainless Steel Cream Mixer to mix all my dough.
Roll out your dough with a Fox Run 4050 Marble Rolling Pin. On a flat surface, until the raw cookie dough is approximately 1/2 inch thick.
Use cookie cutters to cut out the raw cookie dough( This is my favourite kit I use is Set of 5, Dog Paws & Bones Silicone Mold and Stainless Steel Dog Bone Cookie Cutters, find top Food Grade Silicone Mold and 3 Sizes of Biscuit Cutters.
Place the treats onto a 10x14 inch Non-Stick Baking Sheet and cook for 15 minutes or until the bottom starts to brown.
Let cool completely.
Have your fur friend enjoys a great apple, peanut butter and oat treat.
Put the rest in your dog cookie jar to keep fresh
